What changes in the Megaways version?

Eastern Emeralds Megaways takes the mountain scenery, emeralds, and golden tortoise of Eastern Emeralds and places them on reels whose heights vary from spin to spin. The number of winning ways therefore changes with each layout. Read the displayed ways count for the current spin instead of carrying a fixed-line assumption from the previous one.

Multiplier Wilds add a second layer. They appear on reels 2–5 and take the value of the reel: x2 on reel 2 through x5 on reel 5. When two or more Multiplier Wilds belong to the same winning combination, their values multiply together. You need to follow both the symbol connection and the Wild positions.

Three RTP versions and 5/5 volatility

The official game sheet lists total RTP versions of 96.04%, 94.05%, and 87.05%. All three have volatility of 5/5. The sheet shows a €0.20 to €100 stake range, although currencies and available values can differ between operators.

The 96.04% version records a 17,421.6x maximum payout in 100 million simulated spins. The 94.05% version records 17,389.3x, and the 87.05% version records 17,328.7x. These are simulation observations published by Quickspin, not results a normal session should expect to reach.

An operator selects the active RTP version. Check the paytable in the session you open and never assume 96.04% is universal. Volatility of 5/5 describes a highly uneven result profile; it does not make a win or feature more likely after a quiet run.

Reading changing ways

Megaways calculates its number of ways from the symbol positions available across the reels. When reel heights change, the total number of combinations changes too. A win still needs matching symbols to connect across the required consecutive reels; matching pictures scattered anywhere do not automatically pay.

Before spinning, check where wins begin and how many consecutive reels are required. Then leave turbo off and watch the ways number update. A taller reel can create more possible combinations under the rules, but it does not guarantee that the current symbols form one.

There is no fixed 20-line map to memorise. Train yourself to trace one symbol type from left to right and find where the connection stops. The paylines, ways, and Megaways guide provides a broader comparison if the calculation is new to you.

When Multiplier Wilds combine

Multiplier Wilds can appear anywhere on reels 2–5 and substitute for regular symbols except Scatter. Their x2, x3, x4, or x5 value comes from the reel where they land rather than a separate random multiplier range.

Several Wilds on screen do not automatically combine. At least two must contribute to the same winning combination. If an x2 Wild and x5 Wild both belong to that win, their multipliers are multiplied, not added to x7.

Pause on a winning result and trace the symbols before reading the total. Identify which Wilds participate and the value assigned by each reel. That separates a win driven by symbol value or many ways from one enlarged by multiple Wilds.

Free Spins Bonus, Buy Feature, and Gamble

Three or more Scatters start the Free Spins Bonus. A Bonus Picker then presents one of four feature configurations. The exact number of spins and feature setup should be read from that screen. Scatter does not appear during the free spins according to the official sheet.

The Buy Feature costs 90x the stake and enters the bonus through three Scatters. It is available only in the base game and may be disabled in some markets. Even with virtual credits, notice how quickly repeated 90x purchases consume balance compared with ordinary spins.

The game can offer a gamble on the number of free spins before the bonus. Starting from three Scatters gives a 50/50 chance of moving to the four-Scatter award, and four gives a 50/50 chance of moving to five. A feature triggered by five Scatters skips that gamble. You are risking an existing award for a larger one, not accepting a free upgrade.

A controlled demo for a volatile game

Set a 20-minute limit. Spend five minutes on Megaways, Wild, Scatter, and active RTP rules. Use one virtual stake for the next ten minutes, noting the ways count and Wild positions on each win. Stop for the final five minutes and decide whether you can explain the calculation.

If free spins do not arrive, do not raise the stake to complete the test. You still learned about reel changes, visual clarity, and mobile comfort. A short demo cannot measure bonus frequency, especially in a 5/5 volatility game.

On a small screen, changing reel heights and several multiplier labels can become dense. Try landscape mode and normal speed. If x2–x5 labels remain hard to follow, the game may be a better fit for a larger display.
